Opera was formed as Opera 80 in 1979 to present high quality opera to regions
across England.
This purpose remains, but fully-staged opera is just one component of the
ongoing programme the company presents.
ETO now typically
presents 85 performances of fully staged opera per year, alongside over 100
educational workshops, community productions, pre-show talks, and a host of
other opera-related events for new and existing audiences.
